We are currently seeking an apprentice to join our HR Systems team at A&O Shearman Belfast. The team form part of the wider HR Support Service Centre at A&O Shearman, providing a first-class service to the firm, offering high quality administration support services through a range of specialist teams including HR Advice, HR Systems & Reporting, Graduate Recruitment, Payroll & Reward, Training Events and Global Mobility.

As an HR Systems Apprentice, you'll play a key role in making that happen - helping candidates and recruitment teams connect through smart technology, efficient processes, and global collaboration.

As part of our global team, you'll collaborate with recruiters and candidates to:

  • Ensure every candidate enjoys a smooth, engaging experience - from application to hire
  • Empower recruiters with the tools and intelligent systems that simplify hiring
  • Help drive the technology behind our recruitment journey - keeping our systems modern, efficient, and ready for the future.
  • Optimise recruitment workflows and processes to make hiring faster, smarter, and more efficient.
  • Supporting our Global HR Systems Helpdesk, resolving queries and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations

Earn while you learn: This 3.5-year fixed-term opportunity, delivered in partnership with Ulster University, allows you to gain a BSc in Leading on Customer Operations while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic HR tech environment.

Along the way, you'll gain:

  • Exposure to global HR systems and operations
  • Interaction with international offices from day one
  • Practical experience handling HR data and management information requests
  • Work across core HR systems processes and helpdesk support, gaining practical experience that prepares you for a future full of opportunity

Key Requirements:

  • Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 GCSEs of grade C or above, including English and Mathematics, and a minimum of 2 A Levels of grade C or above.
  • A collaborative team player with good communication skills.
  • Good time management and strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience is not required; however, preference will be given to those candidates who demonstrate administrative skills or experience.
