Description
To undertake regulatory and monthly management reporting in respect of certain Lloyd's entities in support of the Head of Syndicate Finance, as required. To attend Managing Agency committees and boards at Syndicate level.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the preparation of all Lloyd's Finance Regulatory returns for Lloyd's Syndicates within deadlines. To include Annual Returns, Solvency ll Returns, Quarterly Returns, US and Canadian Reporting (including Schedules F & P), and US and Canadian SIS. There is also the need for UK Tax returns.
- The planning and production of monthly and quarterly accounting information, syndicate annual report and accounts, and financial schedules.
- Providing support to the Head of Syndicate Finance in all aspects of the Finance Department.
- Liaise with management, auditors, actuaries and external clients as necessary
- Contributing to the development of the systems for syndicate reporting.
- Managerial and supervisory responsibility for junior members of the team.
- Develop an understanding of the risks and controls relevant to the finance function, operate within the prescribed procedures and guidelines and report/discuss issues with the line manager.
- Ad hoc finance projects.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Personal Skills:
- Ability to produce consistently accurate work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to progress issues on own initiative, but sufficient judgement to know when to refer to Head of Syndicate Finance.
- Ability to work in an orderly and well organised fashion.
- Willingness to learn and put in extra effort when circumstances require.
Professional Skills:
- Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
- Qualified Accountant
- Solid experience of Lloyd's reporting requirements, including involvement in the preparation of Core Lloyd's Market Returns.
- Sound knowledge of IT systems in use within the Asta accounting function - especially Excel, Vision, Sun Accounts.
