Purpose of the Role
The Sustainability Reporting Manager plays a critical role in advancing dentsu's commitment to achieve net‑zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2040. This role is responsible for driving high‑quality global sustainability reporting, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of multi‑market emissions data, and aligning reporting processes with evolving regulatory, client and stakeholder expectations. The postholder will lead the design, governance and continuous improvement of dentsu's carbon accounting, external disclosures and science‑based target frameworks, enabling robust insight, credible progress tracking, and transparent communication of environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carbon Accounting & Data Management:Own Scope 1-3 inventories, oversee global sustainability reporting cycles, manage carbon accounting systems, and deliver clear, accurate data analysis and visualisation.
- Assurance, Controls & Compliance: Support ESG assurance activities, enhance reporting controls, and convert ISSB and CSRD requirements into streamlined, practical reporting processes.
- Strategic Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Align senior stakeholders, coordinate multi‑market reporting across 50+ markets, support SBTi target development, and lead submissions to major sustainability ratings.
- Team Leadership: Coach junior team members and strengthen a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and high‑quality delivery.
Person Specification
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of the GHG Protocol, end‑to‑end sustainability reporting, and product life cycle assessment across value chains.
- Data & Systems Capability: Advanced Excel proficiency, strong BI skills (Power BI/Tableau/Looker), and experience with carbon accounting platforms such as Net Zero Cloud or equivalent.
- Assurance & Regulatory Knowledge: Experience supporting ESG assurance, strengthening reporting controls, and applying ISSB (IFRS S1/S2) and CSRD requirements.
- Stakeholder & Project Leadership: Ability to engage senior global stakeholders and manage large, multi‑market reporting processes with accuracy and pace.
- People & Collaboration Skills: Skilled at coaching junior team members and contributing to a high‑performing, collaborative team environment.
