Job Description

As our Sustainability Data Manager, you will own the end-to-end strategy, architecture, and delivery of sustainability data across ASOS. This is a high-impact, product-led role that empowers the business to make data-driven decisions, meet compliance obligations, and scale sustainability and circularity initiatives.

You will lead the vision and roadmap for sustainability data, driving innovation through automation, AI, and modern data platforms. You'll collaborate across Responsible Sourcing, Tech, and Commercial teams to embed sustainability into the product lifecycle, and influence strategic outcomes across ESG initiatives, sourcing, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Data Strategy & Architecture

  • Own ASOS's sustainability data strategy and roadmap, aligning with Fashion with Integrity and legislative requirements.
  • Build and scale foundational data architecture in Microsoft Azure to support reporting, compliance, and decision-making.
  • Build and drive automation of key reports including the Tonnage Report, Sustainability Dashboard, Better Cotton compliance and more.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sourcing and Human Rights to identify and scale high-impact use cases for sustainability data, driving outcomes that support traceability, compliance, and innovation.

Tech Development & Innovation

  • Act as the key point of contact for the implementation of a supply chain traceability system, ensuring sustainability requirements are met.
  • Partner with Tech and Product teams to integrate sustainability into the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System, Bill of Materials, and Digital Product Passport systems.
  • Champion the Automation Hub to empower teams with scalable, efficient workflows.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Manage government and NGO reporting, ensuring traceability and alignment with evolving ESG legislation.
  • Monitor and report on circular design claims and performance against targets.
  • Influence stakeholders across levels to drive alignment, clarity, and accountability.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in data strategy, or product management roles within retail or fashion.
  • Strong technical understanding of data architecture, automation tools, and ESG reporting frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, drive strategic transformation, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Power Automate, and PLM systems.
  • Strong understanding of Python and SQL.
  • Experience developing Power BI dashboards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of delivering outcomes at scale.
  • Passion for sustainability, innovation, circularity, and empowering teams through data.
