We'd like you to join us as Support Services Manager at the Kings Norton Hospital in Birmingham.

The Support Services Manager is responsible to the Hospital Director for non-clinical aspects of the Hospital's operation (ie; Maintenance, Estates, Health & Safety, Housekeeping and Catering) reporting to the post holder via separate Heads of Department. All administration staff report directly to the post holder, although some aspects of these role may cross over between this role and other Heads of Departments and Managers.

Kings Norton Hospital in Birmingham supports adults of all genders with severe and complex mental health conditions. In this state-of-the-art hospital we provide high quality intensive treatment in a clinically safe, caring and secure environment.

What you'll be working:

  • 37.5 Hrs per week
  • Monday to Friday

What you'll be doing:

  • Adopt a professional approach to patient / resident care at all times
  • Be required to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, visitors, carers, members of the multi-disciplinary care team and senior professional and managerial staff.
  • Delegate responsibility for the efficient and effective running of all Hospital services within the remit of the role
  • Contribute to the setting of budget for relevant areas of responsibility and monitor and manage expenditure against those budgets - reporting status on a regular basis to the Hospital Director
  • Completes the final sign off/approval of invoices relating to all non-clinical expenditure
  • Attend corporate meetings as required by the Hospital Director
  • Ensure that there is appropriate administrative support in place to support the work of the Hospital - taking in to account budget parameters
  • Support the local estates department to deliver their objectives - as set by the BSM
  • Oversee the complaints procedure to include the monitoring of the complaints database (thought not handling the complaints themselves)
  • Adhere to Health & Safety Legislation and ensure that the hospital remains compliant
  • Participate in the on call rota
