Context
We are building a world class Planning organisation, based on standardised processes and ways of working, which will enable;

  • Diageo's performance ambition is to become the most trusted and respected CPG and our "must dos" set out where we aim to win in order to achieve this aspiration.
  • Within Supply Chain this translates into goals that aim to deliver world class performance at best cost, drive value through exceptional service and enable new growth opportunities.

This specific role of the Supply Planning Team Leader is to manage a team of Supply Planners to balance our customer service objectives whilst maintaining optimal primary inventory, logistics costs (storage and direct dispatch) and production efficiencies.

The Supply Planning Team Leader will leverage, orchestrate and facilitate across the Supply Chain to deliver robust supply plans that meet business needs. This will be delivered via highly developed partnerships and adopting an Integrated Business Management approach. Adherence to all supply planning processes for operations in Scotland and the UK.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead, manage, coach and develop a team of 7 Supply Planners to ensure the required Supply Chain functional and leadership capabilities are being continuously developed in line with Diageo capabilities.
  • Produce clear and concise supply plans to guarantee availability of product to meet customer demand on time and in full to world-class standards. Manage capacity positions for all lines at Leven to meet demand.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with key partners including Site Leadership, Scheduling, Market Planning, Logistics and TCE, at all levels within these organisations and leverage these relationships to deliver the Diageo strategy.
  • Initiate, lead and action Finished Goods inventory holding plans to control stocks of finished product and to avoid write off costs, ensuring Inventory health and AWC goals are achieved each month.
  • Play a lead role in run and improve the business, Supply Chain Projects, Continuous Improvement agenda, Product Innovation and Renovation Processes, balancing need for flexibility with commitments to service, cost and quality.
  • Ensure excellent communications by self & team of forward plans to each participant in supply chain (e.g., Source, Make, Move and Demand).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant qualification in Supply Chain, Business Administration or equivalent
  • APICS Qualified or equivalent desired
  • Significant Supply chain planning experience in an FMCG would be advantageous.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Supply Planning, Operations, Logistics and Route to Market is desirable.
  • Excellent IT and numerical skills, to exploit benefits of SAP ECC6, SAP APO SNP
