Job Description:
This role will manage, deliver and ensure the Aftermarket Parts Supply Chain Operational Readiness for Li-Ion batteries. This involves understanding the future supply chain and business Electric Vehicle (EV) strategy and requirements and bringing them to life by delivering this essential workstream as part of the wider cross functional project.
The role will focus on the successful implementation of the master warehouse storage facility and successful 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) service provider integration in the UK specifically focusing on Li-Ion Batteries. This will support ensuring a robust operation is set up to provide replacement batteries and associated service parts to our global customers in line with our client's plan to increase EV production across multiple new vehicle platforms from 2026 onwards.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Warehouse location selected and design complete in accordance with business standards and legal requirements.
- Investment budget secured Fitout complete ready to receive product 3PL onboarded with processes in place and training complete Stock in bin and readiness for 1st outbound dispatch in line with vehicle program timing.
- Meeting key project and vehicle program milestones and deliverables.
- Delivery of a solution in line with customer journey expectation.
- Delivery of solution in line with project governance methodologies.
Key Interactions:
- Interacts at Director / Senior Manager and all levels both within our client and with External Partners including: After Market Parts Supply Chain Management Team, our client's Property, our client's IT / Systems, our client's Corp Functions (Legal / Business Protection / Property / Insurance), UK GPLC operations (Mercia), 3rd Party Logistics provider, External Design Partner, Head of International Supply Chain and Logistics Performance, Finance Indirect Procurement.
Skills Required:
- Background and experience in Supply Chain Management with proven experience in logistics operations setup and implementations.
- Able to forge excellent cross-functional relationships and communicate succinctly across a number of functions and partners.
- Excellent project management skills, experience in working with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization and a passion about moving tasks forward as well as taking full ownership of projects / issues.
Skills Preferred:
- The project will require focus, support and delivery on the following elements UK Warehousing Facility.
- Working with our client's Property Team.
- Support the development of logistics operations process.
- Ensure implementation of logistics operations process on time.
- Ensuring processes to address potential failure modes are robust and embedded.
- Support 3PL procurement process Onboard 3PL partner including resource / training / equipment readiness etc.
- Engage with inbound supply and freight teams to ensure inbound and outbound material flows are set up.
- Manage external partner to deliver a warehouse design in line with our client's standards.
- Engage with other cross functional workstreams to ensure a joined-up end-to-end supply chain solution.
- Take best practice learning / seek synergies throughout our client's wider business regarding storage and handling of Li-Ion batteries (Including UK battery repair hub).
- Engage with Property IT delivery teams to deliver IT infrastructure.
- Engage with Operational systems team to ensure WMS readiness.
- Ensure solutions implemented are compliant to our legal obligations.
- Ensure speed of order fulfilment to point of dispatch supporting the customer journey SLA.
Experience Required:
- Background and experience in Supply Chain Management Experience of Agile Methodologies, Prince 2 or equivalent.
- Able to forge excellent cross-functional relationships and communicate succinctly across a number of functions and partners.
- Proven experience in logistics operations setup and implementations.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and analytical skills, including the ability to make fact based, data-driven decisions and considering multiple (and potentially competing) factors.
- Ability to negotiate and have adaptability.
- Ability to present, make recommendations, challenge people at all levels and defend position based on data - quantitative and qualitative.
- Sound commercial judgement and confidence to contribute effectively.
- Highly competent with MS packages including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Experience Preferred:
- Understanding vehicle technologies / EV & Li-Ion knowledge.
- Commercially astute with an ability to understand the business function that this role supports in particular Freight Logistics experience.
- Automotive business experience, particularly in parts supply chain.
