Job Introduction

Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Manager - Performance, will drive supplier performance, improvement, and development with the SCS supply chain. Increased supply chain performance will be delivered through the effective management of the quarterly Supplier Performance Reviews (SPR's), Performance Improvement Plans and supplier recognition.

There will be an opportunity to support the continual development of the SCS supply chain strategy throughout the life cycle of the project.

The Supply Chain Manager - Performance will be self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to effectively improve supplier performance through a results-orientated approach to your work.

The role requires excellent communication and customer facing skills along with working as part of a team and promoting our culture and values. You will consider problems as a challenge, collect information relevant to the problem, be disciplined in ascertaining the root cause, identify and develop a practical solution, communicate the findings and implement action to resolve the problem.

Role Responsibility

  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, improvement, development.
  • Manage internal stakeholders by facilitating and supporting the SCS project teams in completing supplier performance and driving the 'Defining Blue' process.
  • Escalated issues which cannot be resolved by the Project team (when called upon on key trade or critical package only)
  • Encourage strong supplier relationships through supplier improvement plans, conflict resolution and strategic supply chain partner relationship management.
  • Deliver the key contractual requirements for HS2 for supplier development.
  • Lead supplier performance relationships in sharing best practice within the supply chain.
  • Responsible for upskilling the supply chain by providing support through the performance process.
  • Facilitate and support the financial assessment and reporting of the supply chain.
  • Work collaboratively with Supply Chain Data Analyst to visualize trends in supplier performance data.
  • Arrange and deliver periodic business to business meetings (B2B's) with key trade or critical package supply chain including preparation of material for use therein together with capture of actions/notes thereafter.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in a similar level role, responsible for the delivery of Supplier Performance in a large, complex organization.
  • A professional qualification or degree (or equivalent)
  • Good knowledge and practical experience of developing, implementing, maintaining and improving supplier performance.
  • Capable of working independently and proactively as well as skilled at working collaboratively with internal teams and supply chain to improve supplier performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a robust appreciation of relationship management.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in a busy and demanding environment.
  • Good understanding of the construction and/or infrastructure market (Desirable)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI.
  • A can-do, positive attitude, willing to go the extra mile.

About the Company

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK's new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK's 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
