About the Role
The Supplier Relationship Manager is a critical role within the Technology Supplier Management (TSM) team and is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of multiple strategic and critical 3rd party contracts, whilst ensuring alignment to RM Technology goals and objectives. The role reports to the Head of Contract and Supplier Management and will develop and work within a team dedicated to providing a centre of excellence in contract, commercial and relationship management.
In this role you will:
- Relationship and contract management of strategic and critical suppliers, in line with best practice and in accordance with the RM Technology Supplier Management Policy
- Support and develop supplier management strategy for suppliers in scope, in line with the RMG Technology sourcing strategy to deliver tangible benefits and value
- Apply appropriate contractual and commercial management skills, tools and techniques in order to ensure the effectiveness of supplier contracts to meet and exceed contractual obligations, deliver value and minimize risk.
- Act as an escalation point for Supplier related issues and own dispute resolution
- Produce Exec Board level supplier performance reporting ensuring alignment and to inform decision making
- Work closely with senior leaders across Technology, Business, Finance, Legal and Procurement to build, develop and govern supplier relationships
- Take personal responsibility and accountability for suppliers within scope, acting as a subject matter authority and role model
Key Skills needed:
- Full contract and commercial life-cycle contract and commercial management experience in Technology for large scale (£10m+pa) and complex strategic critical supplier relationships and contracts
- In-depth knowledge of contract structures and terms ideally across one or more of the following technology categories; Application Development and Maintenance, Cloud and Hosting, Network, Telecoms and Workplace, End User Compute, IT Service Desk and Software
- Ability to analyse, understand and enforce contractual obligations, whilst balancing out the need to maintain and grow a strong and value adding relationship with suppliers
- Strong track record of driving tangible commercial benefits within the contract life-cycle
- Exec level commercial and stakeholder management skills, and a consistent track record of building strong internal business and supplier relationships
- Development and management of multiple strategic and critical supplier contracts and relationships
- Strong commercial negotiation skills, being able to demonstrate experience of supporting, leading and managing negotiations for complex agreements
