Are you an experienced supplier, contract or commercial management professional looking to make a real impact in a complex, fast-moving technology environment? This is an exciting opportunity to join Royal Mail Technology as a Supplier Relationship Manager, taking ownership of end-to-end supplier performance and driving value across our business.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of a portfolio of suppliers-primarily small to medium in scale and complexity. You'll oversee the commercial, contractual and relationship aspects of each engagement, ensuring suppliers deliver against expectations while supporting Royal Mail's strategic and operational objectives.
Working closely with Technology, Business and Procurement teams, you'll play a key role in shaping supplier strategy, optimising commercial outcomes, and ensuring continuous improvement across our supplier base.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the relationship and contracts for operational and supporting suppliers, with the flexibility to support strategic or critical suppliers when required.
- Apply best-practice supplier management in line with Royal Mail Technology's Supplier Management Policy and Standards.
- Use strong commercial and contractual expertise to ensure suppliers meet obligations, deliver value and minimise risk.
- Collaborate with Technology, Business and Procurement teams to build effective supplier relationships and maintain fit-for-purpose contracts.
- Act as the subject matter authority for your suppliers, taking full accountability for performance and governance.
- Serve as an escalation point for supplier issues and lead dispute resolution activities.
- Drive proactive contract planning, renewals and extensions to secure best-value outcomes.
- Conduct contract and commercial reviews, manage change controls, and maintain accurate contract documentation.
- Oversee asset and licence management activities.
- Provide SME input into tenders, negotiations and supplier evaluations.
