Our retail team are opening an exciting new Superstore in Bradford, and we are looking for an experienced and pioneering Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in delivering a successful launch and building a thriving retail environment.

This is a key leadership role within a large format store that will sell a mixture of bought in merchandise alongside donated goods. Working closely with the Store Manager, you will take responsibility for the daily operational running of the shop, leading shifts, supervising staff and volunteers, and ensuring high standards of merchandising, replenishment, and customer service

You will help ensure the store is commercially strong, well organised, and welcoming to customers while supporting the charity's mission to provide care and support for people living with terminal illness.

Job Description

You will be responsible for

  • Supporting the Superstore Manager in running the store commercially including - display and merchandising, stock management and generation, maintaining store standards, layout of store and opening and closing of store
  • Ensuring an excellent customer and supporter service throughout the store, on sales floor and at till point including payment processes and customer loyalty sign up
  • Ensuring that effective processing systems are in place within the stockroom in order to manage large volumes of stock and support the needs of the sales floor. (Including Stocktake)
  • Supporting the Superstore Manager to ensure that any items designated for eBay are listed according to MC guidelines
  • Assisting the Superstore Manager with regard to recruiting and managing volunteers, including supporting with completion of training & drafting and maintaining volunteer rotas where appropriate

Key criteria

  • Experience in a retail management role, preferably in large retail format or fashion / clothing
  • Experience of cash handling and financial management procedures (including completion of sales records)
  • Ability to think creatively and adapt to competing demands/deadlines & challenging situations including making quick decisions when required
  • Ability to motivate and influence others
  • Confident using computers and basic digital systems

Salary: £23,078-23,460 per annum plus benefits

Hours per week: 35 hours per week
