We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for Student Progression Manager to join us.

You will join us on a 36 hour per weekfull-time, permanent basis, and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £42,263 inc. London Weighting p.a.

The Student Progression Manager role:

Reporting to the Director of Student Support you will oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of the colleges careers strategy, ensuring effective delivery of Careers Education, Information, and Guidance (CEIAG), work experience and industry placement provision.

Key Responsibilities of our Student Progression Manager role:

  • You will be responsible for developing, brokering, and maintaining strong relationships between employers, boroughs and Barking and Dagenham College to support students gain placement within their chosen industry which matches their curriculum and theory to their technical practice and ensure that the future workforce have the skills required to access work placement sin their chosen career paths.
  • You will manage a team of Progression coaches (CEIAG and Work Experience)
  • You will lead on developing opportunities and supporting the delivery of course outputs in relation to wok placements and will also work with the curriculum staff, and Employer Engagement / Careers teams in supporting the college's employability agenda.
  • You oversee the delivery and implementation of the BDC careers programme including support the college to meet the Gatsby benchmarks.
  • Lead and support of Student destination surveys

As our Student Progression Manager, you should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • You will hold a minimum Level 6 Careers Leader and/or Level 6 CEIAG qualification
  • You will have experience of working in an education environment or with young people in an advisory/careers, work experience capacity
  • You will have experience of Sales negotiation within a recruitment and/or similar context
  • Ability to build positive relationships and maintain partnerships and networks
  • You will have the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and able to liaise and work collaboratively with professionals from other agencies, manager and key service stakeholders.
  • Ability to keep clear, timely and accurate records and manage a complex workload
