ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly-motivated leader to head Strategy & Planning and champion the evolution of the team to support MUBI's scale and growth. Strategy & Planning is a critical team at MUBI responsible for FP&A, M&A, business partnering and fundraising, working closely with the Executive Team and functional leaders across all departments.

You will have an in-depth understanding of core FP&A processes, with responsibility over financial planning, reporting and strategic analysis for the company. This role requires strong communications skills and significant interaction and relationship building with key stakeholders across finance and the company. You will lead and expand a team, and scale processes toward IPO readiness. Based in London and reporting to the VP of Finance, this new role provides broad exposure to MUBI's growth and key decision making.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead FP&A processes including annual budget, monthly close and re-forecast, long-range planning, and performance reporting;
  • Manage the process to define corporate budgets and operational targets for P&L growth and profitability margins (global, functional and country-level);
  • Collaborate with the Financial Accounting & Reporting Director to provide monthly consolidated financial tracking, variance analysis, and commentary;
  • Prepare monthly update materials for content and marketing leaders to track progress and ensure alignment with annual growth and profitability targets;
  • Translate complex financial data into clear narratives, financial reports and presentations for the Executive Team and Board. Present financial summaries and analyses at all levels of the organization to deliver insights and drive improvement;
  • Lead Platform tracking, reporting and forecast including subscribers, retention, ARPU, LTV, CAC and trends by country;
  • Lead Ultimates process for products produced or acquired by MUBI including the creation and actualization of film lifetime models. Lead the review, strategic analysis and investment recommendation in collaboration with Content teams;
  • Develop and optimize existing FP&A processes. Over time build functional FP&A capability for dedicated support to operational teams;
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and implementation of new systems;
  • Manage preparation and execution of debt and equity fundraises;
  • Manage M&A due diligence and execution; support post-closing integration plans;
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement within the Finance team.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • BSc in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field;
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate FP&A, investment banking or private equity;
  • High drive and energy levels, proactive and hands-on;
  • Strong passion for building and transformation, and experience evolving people, processes, and systems.
  • Proven track record of leadership, collaborating in a global matrixed organisation, and ability to drive results with limited guidance;
  • Experience working with and providing recommendations to senior executives;
  • Experience in developing and reviewing 3-statement financial models;
  • Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize efficiently in a fast-paced, high growth environment;
  • Executive-friendly communication and financial storytelling skills;
  • Prior experience in Media, Entertainment and/or Tech is desirable

MUBI is a hybrid-remote company and requires its team members to come into the office 3 days a week if they're located near an office. For this role, we are only open to applicants based in or around London who can travel to our Soho offices 3 days a week.
