Job Purpose
The Strategic Resourcing Manager will work closely with the Head of Staffing in aligning talented individuals with organisational needs, collaborating closely with leaders to identify our strategic staffing requirements and deploying our people in the most effective way. Integral to workforce planning, this role contributes significantly to Genomics England's success by implementing strategic staffing plans that balance programme effectiveness and people's individual growth goals.
Job Description
- Manage day-to-day Workforce Planning activities, ensuring data accuracy.
- Act as the central point for all resource requests, running staffing prioritisation calls and managing capacity planning.
- Build and develop long-term strategic staffing plans to meet organisational needs and work with the Head of Staffing to drive strategic initiatives.
- Own the resourcing plan/template rollout.
- Support workforce planning activities and maintain tools like Semarchy and Ingentis.
- Oversee access certifications for third-party contractors and review JIRA procurement tickets.
- Gather and provide management information for staffing decisions.
- Collaborate with the Head of Staffing on various strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
While we recognise the value of relevant qualifications or certifications, we are primarily interested in your real-world experience.
We are looking for demonstrable experience in the following areas:
- Experience acting as a central point for resource requests, managing capacity planning and maintaining workforce planning systems.
- Confident in engaging with and presenting to stakeholders at all levels up to the Executive Leadership Team, upholding governance, and making recommendations.
- Experience in developing and implementing staffing plans, gathering and analysing data, forming reports that will be used to inform strategy and decision making.
Additional Information
This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Salary from: £46,500

Blended working model
Genomics England operates a blended working model as we know our people appreciate the flexibility that hybrid working can bring. We expect most people to come into the office a minimum of 2 times each month. However, this will vary according to role and will be agreed with your team leader. There is no expectation that people will return to the office full time unless they want to, however, some of our roles require full time on site attendance e.g., lab teams, reception team.
Our teams and squads have, and will continue to reflect on what works best for them to work together successfully and have the freedom to design working patterns to suit, beyond the minimum. Our office locations are: Canary Wharf, Cambridge and Leeds.
