Specific Responsibilities

[Title of Role] for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache's [Position Family] at the company's [Location] office reporting to the [Title of Hiring Manager].

The Strategic Planning Manager provides leadership for the following activities:
• Short and long-term plans, including monthly Outlooks, 3-year plans, and life of field models
• Economic evaluations: near-term activity decisions to long-term Net Asset Value decisions
• Decommissioning planning, including synthesizing detailed decommissioning plans into existing life of field models

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

Approvals - Business Planning and Economics
• Approve all economic evaluations
• Recommend business strategy and activity plans that align with corporate and UK strategic objectives
• Determine performance evaluation for strategic planning team with inputs from relevant stakeholders

Key Accountabilities
• Accuracy and rigor of asset plan
• Accuracy of economic evaluation
• Compliance with standards and guidelines in the Planning function

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership
• Lead preparation of North Sea asset plan and outlook
• Review asset P&Ls and range of Net Asset Values
• Promote technical and operational innovation to drive continuous improvement and cost leadership
• Support preparation of corporate plan and outlook/ long range plan
• Provide assurance and approval of economic evaluations
• Lead creation of budgets and performance information to support partner and regulatory engagements

Decommissioning Planning Leadership
• Lead formulation of a decommissioning plan
• Lead the development of a detailed decommissioning model that incorporates a clear sequence of decommissioning activities
• In collaboration with International Tax, formulate a detailed decommissioning tax model

Functional Standard Leadership
• Planning, budgeting, and economic evaluation best practices, tools, standards and processes
• Manage and update Corporate planning economic assumptions

People Leadership
• Recommend Planning personnel for asset team assignment
• Develop skillset of UK Planning personnel

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
• Knowledge of upstream business, particularly experience working for oil and gas exploration and production businesses
• Extensive years of experience working for and/or or with large energy companies that have worldwide assets and operations
• Extensive knowledge of financial and accounting principles, particularly as it pertains to financial modelling
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, management, administrative, organizational, and leadership skills
• Experience implementing sound decisions when faced with multi-faceted problems;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate vision and set goals;
• Ability to manage a multi-disciplinary, multi-faceted team
• An undergraduate degree from a competitive four-year college or university, with strong academic credentials;
