Strategic Manager Waste & Fleet

Our client is looking for a strategic manager to join their team on a temporary contract until August 2024. In this role you will lead and manage Waste and Recycling collection services and strategy, fleet management and depot responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:

• To lead and manage all matters relating to Fleet, Vehicle and workshops services, ensuring compliance, service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• To manage and be accountable for the strategic planning, legal compliance, improvement, plans, and performance standards for the Council's waste and fleet operations
• To develop and manage a fleet replacement program, ensuring that capital finance requirements evidenced and reported in advance to support this Programme.
• Develop and implement short- and long-term operational strategies to optimise waste collection routes, schedules and resource allocation.

You will need:

• International Freight Transport CPC
• Membership of a relevant professional body (ILM/CIWM)
• Proven experience in managing Municipal Waste Operations and Fleet related operations.
• Solid understanding of waste operations, fleet management, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
