About Birdie

Birdie is the leading home healthcare technology platform that aims to radically transform the lives of older adults. Its all-in-one solution supports millions of care visits every month, equipping care providers with the tools they need to deliver better quality care and improve efficiency across most day-to-day operations. Birdie is proud to be recognised as a B-corp.

Launched in 2017, Birdie is a team of socially motivated care, health, product and tech entrepreneurs. As of June 2022 we closed our series B funding with £25m invested by Index Ventures, Sofina & Omers. In 2023 we were named 6th in Deloitte fast 50 celebrating innovation and entrepreneurship in Tech.

Your mission

The mission of the Strategic Finance Manager, as our first hire in the Strategic Finance team, is threefold: partner with business leaders to help them make great strategic decisions; ensure Birdie's resources are deployed for maximum impact; and tell the story of Birdie's current and future performance.

How you will contribute

  • Partner with the Finance Director in support of capital raises, investor management and long-term strategy
  • Be a trusted partner to senior business leaders from a variety of functions, helping them with business analytics, resource allocation, planning and forecasting
  • Drive Birdie's global planning and forecasting processes with clear communication and organization
  • Own Birdie's current-year financial modelling, and become an expert in Software as a Service (SaaS metrics) including interpretation of those metrics and suggesting appropriate actions
  • Play an instrumental role in building for scale by designing processes and helping implement tools and systems that will support Birdie during its next phase of growth

We'd love to hear from you if

  • You have 4-6 years of finance-related experience, either in a company finance team or in consulting or banking
  • You take pride in awesome client service (whether internal or external clients)
  • You have great attention to detail and are expert at financial modeling, but can tell a story and see the big picture
  • You are curious about business in general - operations, economics, markets etc. - and are keen to gain wide ranging business expertise not limited to a particular function or department
  • You have the "data gene" - a strong appreciation for data, and an aptitude for working with it
  • Added bonuses: experience automating manual processes, data visualization, ACA or equivalent, experience with SaaS metrics

These are our ideal requirements, but we know some people are less likely to apply for the role unless they are 100% qualified. We promote a diverse, inclusive and empowering culture at Birdie, so please apply if you meet the majority of these competencies.
