We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Assistant Director to lead complex planning and consenting projects across the vital energy infrastructure sector. As an Assistant Director, you will be instrumental in guiding critical energy infrastructure projects through their entire lifecycle. You'll lead multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring projects from are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be the architect of innovative consenting strategies, advising clients on optimal routes such as Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and Section 36/37 consents, and expertly navigating national planning policy and ever evolving associated guidance. Your role will involve managing complex stakeholder engagement programmes, representing clients effectively with stakeholders, and cultivating deep, trusted relationships that drive client satisfaction and our practice's growth. - Extensive experience in planning and consenting for large-scale infrastructure and energy projects, gained within a consultancy, developer, or public sector environment.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with national consenting regimes, particularly the Planning Act 2008 (DCOs), as well as local planning processes (TCPA).
- Strong understanding of relevant environmental legislation, including EIA Regulations.
- Demonstrable experience in leading and managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects, including financial management and risk mitigation.

- Experience with a broad range of energy technologies across power, utilities and renewables, including hydrogen, carbon capture and storage (CCS), solar, onshore, offshore wind.

Infrastructure and Real Estate
Our Infrastructure and Real Estate team supports both public and private sector clients on complex infrastructure, real estate, and capital projects. Typical engagements include urban regeneration, transport, energy and renewables, and occupier advisory to central government and large corporate companies.

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
