Location: Office in Swayne and Partners, Bury St Edmunds with regular travel within region
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

As Regional Director, you will take full accountability for the performance and development of your region. This is a senior, commercially focused leadership role that blends clinical understanding with strategic and operational management. You will work closely with practice leadership teams, supporting them to deliver outstanding veterinary care while achieving commercial, operational, and people objectives. You will be responsible for driving standards, improving efficiencies, developing talent, and embedding a positive culture across your region.
Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Quality Leadership:

- Champion high standards of veterinary care across all practices in the region.
- Support Clinical Directors and Lead Vets to ensure compliance with RCVS and internal clinical standards.

Commercial & Operational Management:
- Deliver the region's commercial and operational plans, meeting revenue, profitability, and efficiency targets.
- Monitor practice performance, analyse KPIs, and implement action plans where required.
- Drive business growth through service development, client retention, and operational excellence.

People Leadership & Development:
- Lead, coach, and develop practice leadership teams to achieve high engagement and performance.
- Support succession planning, recruitment, and retention of key talent.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture aligned to our values.

Multi-site Management:
- Oversee and support multiple practices, ensuring consistency in standards, processes, and delivery of strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with central support teams (Marketing, Finance, HR, Clinical) to ensure practices have the resources and support they need.

About You

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- MRCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- Minimum of 5 years' clinical experience in small animal practice.
- At least 2 years' management experience, preferably in a multi-site leadership role.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to interpret and act on financial and operational data.
- Excellent leadership skills with a track record of inspiring and developing teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- Passionate about delivering high clinical standards while achieving commercial objectives.

Desirable:
- Previous experience in a veterinary group or multi-site healthcare environment.
- Proven track record in change management and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
