Job Description

The ideal candidate for this role will have luxury jewellery retail architectural, millwork and shop-fit experience and will be an excellent communicator in English and French.

Fluent French is a must for this role.

The purpose of the SDP Project Manager is to deliver the new De Beers Paris Flagship store in a new store concept.

The role will coordinate, monitor and drive the Flagship store project, liaising with external architects & PM teams, internal HQ teams and the regional team.

SDP Project Management - (new store openings, relocations and renovations)

  • End-to-end ownership of the project from schematic and design development, through construction drawing, prototyping, construction, installation and project close.
  • Effectively manage multiple workstreams ensuring all remain on track and within agreed budget.
  • Review requirements from all internal stakeholders and manage communication with external teams to ensure all relevant information is included and clearly documented ahead of meetings.
  • Manage the project programme, reviewing details with all internal and external collaborators.
  • Review, advise and document tenders and contracts with all contractors and sub-contractors in line with procurement processes.
  • Develop effective relationships with external architects, internal stakeholders and regional execution teams to ensure projects are delivered consistent with the store concept vision and within the pre-agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain project governance and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Responsible for project budget tracking and reporting as required.
  • Pro-actively lead on the resolution of issues.
  • Deliver value engineering proposals, reviewing with stakeholders and implement accordingly.
  • Project Manage the production and presentation of prototypes, mock-ups and delivery of samples, reviewing and documenting all stages from initial drawings to final sign-off documentation.
  • Review all document revisions, ensuring accuracy; proofreading and amending where required.
  • Lead project snagging and resolution ahead of store opening and project de-brief.

Process & Communication

  • Lead design execution improvement initiatives, reviewing and documenting opportunities, and scheduling associated workstreams.
  • Manage the communication cadence; scheduling progress meetings, setting agendas, distributing minutes and following up on action points.
  • Lead project programme meetings, ensuring all points are clearly understood by all parties and meeting objectives are delivered.
  • Actively seek sustainability initiatives that contribute to achieving the business goals.
  • Manage a physical and digital project sample and archive library, ensuring accuracy of all details.

Qualifications

  • Project management experience working within luxury retail store design and development is essential.
  • Experience in a similar role in the French market.
  • Fluency in French is essential.
  • Experience luxury jewellery retail design would be an advantage.
  • Experience in schematic design, design development, construction and installation processes.
  • Knowledge of central Paris permit processes is desirable
  • Network of local contractors, manufacturers and suppliers is desirable
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to plan and analyse multiple critical paths to achieve optimal delivery.
  • Ability to drive projects to completion within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent project management skills, able to deliver multiple projects to tight deadlines.
  • Technical knowledge of millwork construction techniques, processes and materials
  • Time management: Prioritise, structure work & effectively manage time
