You'll plan all new and refitted Wickes stores to agreed internal deadlines ensuring they are logical and easy for customers to navigate as well as space efficient. You'll manage the planning work undertaken by the store planning team resulting from commercial team activities you're assigned to including range reviews impacting all of our 229 stores.

What you'll be doing

Production and accuracy of initial site layouts for new stores

Production of detailed store plans for new stores and refits

Be the first Point of Contact in the resolution of all issues raised from store plans

Technical editor, with accountability for accuracy, of the databases, as used by the entire store planning team, containing all objects used in the planning process in the AutoCAD System i.e. racking & equipment, all relevant sq. footage records for the store estate, and all CAD plans

Production and accuracy of all category driven existing store space change layouts, liaising closely with the category teams to ensure the results are in line with category requirements. This includes the majority of the Wickes Range Review programme

What we're looking for:

The role is inherently a complex and highly technical one, requiring the ability to blend experience with technical planning skills to effectively plan stores. You'll manage your own projects including the critical paths for both small and large (new store) projects to meet all agreed timescales.

You'll have in depth experience in a store planning role and ideally be educated to degree level with excellent knowledge of CAD (or equivalent) Store planning software. You'll be able to demonstrate project management experience having strong communication skills and time management. You'll have extensive knowledge of macro planning and merchandising systems and be familiar with consumer behaviour. You must have a valid drivers licence.

You'll work from our Support Centre in Watford, where our Store planning team are based, along with our other support functions.
