Storage Manager - £500PD - Financial Services

I am currently working with a leading global technology consultancy who are looking for a Storage Manager to work for a Financial Services business on a project basis. The Storage Manager will require expertise in zSeries Systems Programming and IBM technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimising storage infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and performance of zSeries systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain zSeries storage systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Design, implement, and optimise storage solutions leveraging IBM technologies.
  • Perform system programming tasks, including installation, configuration, and upgrades of zSeries storage components.
  • Monitor storage system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
  • Develop and enforce storage policies and procedures to maintain data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate storage solutions with other systems and applications.

Requirements:

  • Experience on IBM DS8K disk hardware installation design, upgrade and support skills including DSCLI scripting and familiarity with HMC GUI
  • DELL DLM virtual tape (VTE with Data Domain) hardware installation design, upgrade and support skills with knowledge of GUI, NFS and Linux
  • Broadcom (Brocade) DCX hardware skills and FICON / FIBRE concepts and configuration. Set-up and utilising SanNav and Maps
  • IBM Storage
  • Knowledge of zSeries Systems Programming concepts and technologies
