We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Stock & Warehouse Manager to work at our Crewe site.

Main Purpose of the Role

Overall responsibility and accountability for the Unipart Rail Stock integrity and counting programs for the Crewe Campus, validating, and justifying all and every stock transaction within Crewe from a physical and systemic perspective.

Day-to-day management of all processes within the Central Stores operation.

Excellent use and optimisation of Unipart Way methodologies will be required and are essential to drive continual improvement within the site operation and function under the role holder's control.

Identify and drive improvement initiatives that optimise capacity and efficiency.

Considerable discretion and independence expected within broad guidelines and aligned to corporate objectives.

Management Of People & Advisory

Direct line management responsibility for a small team of circa x5 warehouse operatives.

The role holder will work closely with the Operations Managers within the Manufacturing business to ensure operational support is given when needed and ensure they are held to account on transaction and stock accuracy within their respective areas understanding any defects and developing appropriate 3 C's to mitigate.

Spread Of Skills & Analysis Required

Breadth and depth of knowledge across a number of functions / departments specifically Unipart Way Continuous Improvement methodology.

Supply Chain and warehouse experience ideally within FMCG environment

Highly analytical with the ability to manage, interpret and report on complex data sets and make appropriate business decisions

Previous stock audit experience / warehouse administration experience essential.

Experience in Managing teams of people within a matrix organization with multiple internal customers

Able to work in high pressure environment with strict adherence to deadlines and milestones.

Qualifications & Education

Ideally educated to a higher education standard but relevant work experience can mitigate accordingly

Experience & Proven Ability Required

  • Considerable experience in a Stock planning and control role ideally within a Supply chain / Warehouse Location within the UK.
  • Exceptional understanding of the Transport and distribution industry along with the ability to review processes and capacity planning in relation to stock count schedules and adherence.
  • Advanced numeracy, statistical and reporting skills with the ability to analyse, interpret and manage information, data, and trends.
  • Experience of delivering results through cross-functional working and matrix organisations.
  • Commercial and financial awareness, with a full understanding of the impact of failure with regards to business costs, Count targets and fulfilment of customer orders through distributed and manufactured products.
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements, through the application of lean techniques. Must ensure full compliance with Unipart Way methodology and drive uptake and compliance through continual use of the tools within the Unipart Way.
  • Experience of operating and influencing at a senior level.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development Confidence in communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to form and maintain strong relationships internally and externally and engage and manage key stakeholders, customers, and external providers.
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Excellent diligence mindset.
  • Process driven with proven experience within FMCG operations and CI qualifications.
