Summary and purpose of position:

To provide Line Management support to the Stock and Admin Clerks servicing the operation across key warehouse areas of Goods In, Production, put away, Replenishment, Picking, Despatch and Returns. Reporting to the Stock & Admin Manager, this role will appeal to a self-motivated, flexible, and committed individuals that is looking to improve or establish themselves within the logistics industry.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Provide daily shift leadership and direction for a team of Stock & Admin Clerks to ensure that all required tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • You will strive to ensure a best-in-class HSE performance is achieved and that the site operates in line with all company and customer procedures and requirements relating to Health and Safety.
  • Demonstrate the company values and lead by example.
  • Monitor and interrogate shift and team performance through tools provided (WMS, Tableau, Globe, etc.)
  • Adherence to operational process (SOP) and identify training requirements for your teams.
  • You will drive a continuous improvement programme, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and process improvement.
  • Identifying trends adversely affecting the control of stock and its impact on our customer's
  • Creating appropriate solutions and recommendations to overcome these issues.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure that aims and objective are met (Warehouse, Customer Service, etc.).
  • Adhere to all emergency procedures (disaster recovery, fire and evacuations etc.).
  • Identify training needs and take appropriate action address these in line with individual and operational requirements.
  • Conduct Probation, Inductions, 1-1's and appraisals.
  • Conduct return to work interviews and absence management procedure meetings.
  • Conduct disciplinary investigations and disciplinary interviews.
  • Maintain confidentiality and remain in line with GDPR (Data Protection), make notes of all performance related conversations and provide written reports within critical time scales.
  • Embrace the introduction of new procedures and on new equipment technology.
  • Report potential risks and aid loss prevention (theft or damage).
  • Any other duties necessary in line with the department.

Experience, Skills, and Attributes:

  • The successful candidate is likely to have experience in a logistics, procurement, or operations administration role.
  • A good understanding of MS excel is essential with other MS office programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to problem solve.
  • Experience working to and meeting targets.
  • Strong leadership skills to support and guide the Stock and Admin team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • You'll be highly self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, a quick learner and will have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ideally holding current PPT, LLOP or Ride On truck licenses.
  • Counterbalance and Reach would be advantageous but not essential.
