Staff Product Manager, Safety Experiences (12 month FTC)

We are seeking a Staff Product Manager as maternity leave cover (12 months) to lead identity and authenticity efforts on the Trust & Safety Product Team, plus compliance initiatives related to the forthcoming regulations.

The person stepping into this role will be responsible for member verification across all apps in the Bumble Inc. platform, ensuring members' liveness, likeness, and age. They will also assume accountability for product compliance initiatives.

This person - as with other members of the Trust & Safety Product Team - will additionally serve as an expert consultant to members of the revenue-driving product and tech teams across the business - championing the safety of our members more broadly by providing deep knowledge of industry best practices and encouraging the use of the many internal trust & safety systems available to be leveraged.

This role will be based in London and will report into the Safety Product & Integrity Services Director.

What You'll Do

    • Iterate on, execute against, and maintain a well-prioritised, holistic product roadmap for identity, authenticity, and age-assurance - plus, product compliance efforts - in alignment with engineering, design, and operations groups; ensure that the roadmap is shaped with a strong narrative that imparts purpose and intent.
    • Synthesise data from many sources in decision making, and additionally understand the limits of data driven decision making; drill into critical key business data daily with an understanding of the relationship between your product area and the core levers that suggest both wins and also crises.
    • Communicate product plans, analytical insights, and progress to internal stakeholders at all levels of leadership; written and verbal communication is exemplary and commonly shared as an example of best practice.
    • Enable the business by assessing safety opportunities for revenue-driving products across the Bumble Inc portfolio by forming close relationships with product & tech leaders and working with them in the ideation, design and development phase of new products / features to ensure a safety-by-design approach.
    • Review, provide, and deliver product ideas, including new features and also improvements, for identity, authenticity, and age assurance; individually deliver the right things at high quality and high velocity. Work closely with Bumble's Data Science team to conceptualise how machine learning can be applied to drive customer value in the identity space; work with the cross-functional team to deliver world-class machine learning models and systems that improve customer experiences.
    • Work with our strategy, legal, and policy teams to deduct what product updates are critical to member safety and business compliance against the Online Safety Bill and others; prioritise and ship these features across the Bumble ecosystem.
    • Evaluate external partnerships in support of innovations for Bumble Inc. identity efforts; develop strong business cases for forward movement; and lead XFN teams to integrate with new systems and partners.
    • This person will not directly manage others, but we expect Staff Product Managers to be leaders at our organisation by way of not only what they do (modelling excellence), but how they do it (modelling kindness, honesty, growth, equity, and accountability).

Experience We Are Looking For

    • 6+ years of product management experience
    • Experience working in product trust and safety
    • Track record of earning trust and influencing across a technology organisation among people at all levels of leadership
    • Strong knowledge of appropriate product performance metrics and a background in data-driven decision making
    • Hands-on experience in balancing long-term innovation and short-term improvements
    • Demonstrable interest and/or understanding of the social discovery or dating industries
    • A bachelor's degree in a related field
