Job title: Specialist Works Service Engineer
Location: Warton or Samlesbury
Salary: From £54,793+ depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing portfolios and project delivery – carrying out inspections, audits and review of services. Monitoring service delivery, liaising with service providers and supporting project activities including launch, progress and handovers
- Liaising with and management of stakeholders, supporting the customer/supplier interface, evaluating feedback to improve performance, and supporting VIP visits
- Managing work orders and measuring performance by monitoring daily works orders, regular monitoring of computerised maintenance management systems and supporting validation of monthly performance figures
- Management of contract and cost control including responsibility of agreed budgets, cost variations, invoice verification and budget forecasting/reporting. Management of all extra to contract requests, operating within a controlled change management process
- Management of Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) and quality by carrying out inspections and audits to verify compliance, identifying areas for improvements. Reviewing and management of health and safety incidents, and supporting emergency response activities such as seasonal readiness, snow and ice, street lighting inspections, site surveys and traffic committee meetings
Your skills and experiences:
- HNC/D or Degree in Facilities Management or a similar related discipline
- Professional membership or working towards e.g. IWFM, CIBSE or related discipline
- Technical background within a Facilities related discipline e.g. Engineering, Construction or Building Services
- Experience of managing the delivery of Facility related projects and/or managing Facilities Services Contracts
- Strong project and change management techniques, such as understanding and demonstrating supplier, stakeholders, costs and health and safety management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, must have the ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders, manage interdependencies and manage service providers to meet programme requirements
- Proficient in IT including Microsoft Office Suite e.g. word, excel, power point, project etc.

The Infrastructure and Facilities Services Team:
By joining us in the role and team, you will be working alongside the Samlesbury and Warton Service Leads. I&FS team support a portfolio of FM Services across Warton and Samlesbury under a One Stop Shop Contract (OSS). The portfolio of services includes Estates Maintenance, Cleaning, Catering and Vending, Car Park Administration and Central Registry.
