About the Job you are considering:
The SOX Compliance Test Assurance Lead is responsible for providing independent assurance over technology controls supporting SOX compliance. The role ensures ITGCs, ITACs, automated, security, and ERP controls are designed, implemented, tested, and operated effectively while meeting regulatory, audit, and internal control requirements. The role provides oversight and challenge to project and System Integrator teams to ensure compliant-by-design technology solutions.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role:
- Provide independent assurance over technology controls implemented across ERP, cloud, digital, and transformation programs.
- Review and assess the design and effectiveness of IT General Controls (ITGCs) and IT Application Controls (ITACs).
- Evaluate key control areas including User Access Management, Privileged Access Management, Segregation of Duties, Change Management, SDLC, and IT Operations.
- Review automated and system-enforced controls within enterprise applications to ensure SOX compliance.
- Oversee System Integrator (SI) and project team deliverables to ensure controls are appropriately designed, documented, and tested.
- Challenge control designs and implementation approaches to mitigate compliance risks and operational inefficiencies.
- Review and validate control testing strategies, execution results, and supporting evidence.
- Identify control gaps, deficiencies, and remediation actions, ensuring timely resolution.
- Provide assurance sign-off on technology control readiness for key project milestones and production deployments.
- Ensure implemented controls generate audit-ready evidence that supports internal and external audit requirements.
- Participate in governance forums, design reviews, and architecture discussions to embed compliance requirements early in the project lifecycle.
- Escalate significant risks, control weaknesses, and compliance issues to program leadership and key stakeholders.
Your Skills
- Significant experience in SOX compliance, IT audit, risk assurance, or technology controls.
- Experience providing independent assurance over large-scale technology transformation programmes.
- Hands-on knowledge of IT General Controls (ITGCs) and Automated Application Controls (ITACs).
- Experience reviewing and challenging deliverables from System Integrators and third-party implementation providers.
- Understanding of ERP platforms such as SAP and Oracle or similar enterprise systems.
- Experience supporting internal and external audit activities.
- Strong understanding of risk-based control design and testing methodologies
