Job summary

The South West Hertfordshire Health and Care Partnership (SWHHCP) is seeking to recruit a Development Director - this is an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic, high performing strategic leader, who is patient-focused and wants to make a positive difference to working in partnership to improve the health and care our local population.

SWHHCP is comprised of nine partner organisations that commission and provide health, care, and wellbeing services in South West Herts (SWH). The partnership is one of three place-based partnerships in the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System (HWE ICS), along with the Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, and Autism Collaborative (MHLDAC). It includes Integrated Care Board (ICB), West Hertfordshire NHS Teaching Hospitals Trust, Hertfordshire County Council, Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, Central London Community Healthcare Trust, Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, HUC, Healthwatch Hertfordshire, Primary Care Networks, and the East of England Ambulance Service Trust. The partnership will increasingly involve other organisations, such as those in the Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector.

This post is a fixed term (2 years) role hosted by West Herts Teaching Hospitals Trust, reporting to the Chief Strategy and Collaboration Officer, with a secondary reporting line into SWHHCP Place Director.

Main duties of the job

The Development Director will work closely with senior 'system' leaders to deliver the development, and management of an efficient and effective place-based partnership in SWH, coordinating the development and delivery of robust strategies, development plans, and transformation programmes that will deliver the strategic aims:

More effective prevention of ill-health and reducing inequalities in access and outcomes.

An approach that seeks to maintain stability and prevent escalation to more acute levels of care.

Delivering joined-up care more effectively to ensure safe and seamless transition of citizens between services.

Developing transformation projects that are delivered outside of acute care and closer to people's homes
