Job Title: Solutions Development Manager - Automation and Robotics Grade: M3
Reports to: Head of Development - Automation and Robotics Business area: TechCo
Location: Remote with UK travel
Summary and purpose of position:
As a Solutions Development Manager - Automation and Robotics, is responsible for driving the pace of qualifying pipeline opportunities within the business by working with partners and cross functional teams to produce detailed and concise solutions that enhance the product portfolio and add value to both Wincanton and its customer's business.
You will be comfortable leading and defining effective integrated automation solutions within complex project environments, demonstrating the maturity to build strong working relationships across Business, IT and 3rd party Stakeholders.
The Solution Development Manager also provides leadership, analysis and design related to the development of Core A&R products, creating deliverables that help develop a direction for managing the portfolio of "as is" and "to be" products for TechCo.

Duties and responsibilities:
• To lead the design of automation and robotics solutions, from initial concept through to finished solution to implement.
• Own development of one of the core products and its associated tools
• Work closely with,
o Invar account management, IT & solution design stakeholders to define, design and deliver Customer solutions.
o Selected partners to achieve the solution and capture all associated costs.
o Sector & site leadership to identify, build & manage opportunities pipeline.
o Business development/sector finance to develop viable commercial models.
• Coordinate with all stake holders to ensure every element of workflow is captured and handled by the proposed solution, including:
o Sales
o Site operations team
o Engineering
o Health and safety
o IT
o Suppliers
o Customer
- Support end to end project, as appropriate, including customer engagement, solution definition, proposal and presentation.
• Feed into the business strategy to enhance its products through partner selection, capability developments and opportunity creation.
• Research new innovations within the industry.
Experience, Skills, and Attributes:
• A combination of experience within warehouse solution design, robotics, WCS software or automation.
• Strong data analysis skills using tools such as Excel, Power BI or MySQL Workbench.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other 3D modelling tools.
• Past accountability for major project solution design from inception through to implementation will be beneficial.
• Commercial acumen, to recognise the importance of the value proposition in solution design.
• Understanding of business process re-engineering principles and processes
• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
• A proven ability to translate business objectives into technical requirements for internal or external delivery.
• Ability to travel inside the UK.
• Ability to communicate, influence and persuade peers.
• Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to tailor the communication style to the audience.
• Possess a consultative solution sales approach.
