We design, build and commission communication and control systems for critical national infrastructure clients. As a systems integrator, our site activities do not include construction
works, but we do act as a principle contractor for the installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical, electrical and control systems.
As a Principal Contractor Site Engineering Manager (Mechanical, Electrical and Control Systems), you'll be part of a team delivering projects on our clients site in the datacentre, airport and rail sectors.
Reporting to the Firstco Project Manager, you'll plan, coordinate and supervise the installation, testing and commissioning activities on site from commencement of the project through to final completion, whilst acting as the principal site contact for the client.
Key Duties as Principal Contractor Site Engineering Manager (Mechanical, Electrical and Control Systems)
- Development and implementation of Safety documentation including Construction Phase plans, site quality plans and Risk Assessments Method Statements.
- Provide and demonstrate safety leadership throughout the project life cycle.
- Sensible Monitoring of site operatives and subcontractors regarding Health and Safety, Quality and Environment.
- Manage competency including training for site personnel.
- Ensure full compliance with all Firstco procedures and current legislation.
- Chairing site coordination meetings.
- Oversee projects on site in a Client-facing role, attending progress and commercial meetings as required throughout the delivery phase.
- Maintain a site presence through project delivery, checking on quality and preparing quality records.
- Assist site personal and sub-contractors with engineering inputs on site, assisting with resolving technical queries and planning of works against the agreed programme.
- Planning and programming of current and future works.
- Notify the Project manager of possible variations and keep suitable contemporary records.
Required Experience:
- Have held similar roles in the past as a Principal Contractor. Have a working understanding of the CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Experience of day-to-day management of site operatives, subcontractors and site work.
- Experience of working under NEC3/4 contracts is desirable. Understanding of mechanical, electrical and control systems engineering.
You'll be working on sites across the greater London area - a full UK driving license is essential!
