Our Police, Care and Justice team are currently hiring. The team provides expertise in niche areas of Police Defendant Civil Litigation, Healthcare Advisory, lnquest and Public Inquiry representation.

Responsibilities

• The role presents significant opportunities for growth and development in a unique team which has enjoyed significant success and growth over the last 12 years.
• Many of our cases are sensitive in nature and high profile. The team undertakes EL/PL claims, Police malfeasance claims including false imprisonment, assault, negligence as well as breach of data protection legislation, the Equality Act, Human Right ACT and Judicial Reviews.
• You will be working within a team that enjoys a wide variety of work types, representing both the public and private sector including numerous police forces, prisons, healthcare and education providers.
• We also represent our clients at complex Article 2 jury inquests and Public lnquiries.
• There is real scope to do a wide variety of work within the role and you will have you own cases as well as assist more experienced solicitors.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential

• We are seeking to recruit the right individual with prior knowledge of the CPR/ civil litigation experience.
• The ideal candidate will demonstrate a real enthusiasm to learn in this interesting area of work.
• The ability to work in a team or work by yourself, using your own initiative is key.
• Strong communication skills
• Be able to work to strict deadlines.

Desirable

• Knowledge of police malfeasance and prison law is desirable but not essential as full upskilling in these niche areas will be provided.
