We are seeking an IT Software Manager who will be responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of all IT software assets across the Kingfisher estate, whilst also leading and being responsible for the view of software license positions and usage, guaranteeing compliance & reporting of misuse or anomalies. The Software Asset Manager is responsible for the process, policies and standards for Kingfisher and is the subject matter authority.
What's the job?
- Build & maintain IT software asset policies, procedures & best practices
- Lead a small team of IT asset analysts and partners, the team is mainly based in Southampton with a hybrid working policy
- Promote the IT asset management function within the group and all banners, educate key stakeholders
- Provide IT asset management support and mentorship to IT staff and business users
- Define and deliver the IT software asset management roadmap
- Ensure that Asset management tooling is always up to date and that its value is improved
- Lead IT software asset lifecycle activities such as procurement, deployment, maintenance, disposal and renewal including SAAS environments.
- Analyse IT asset data and trends to find opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and risk mitigation
- Own and ensure that the business remains compliant with its software license obligations
- Proactively supervise and deliver 'Effective Licensing Positions' (ELP) & mitigations
- Driving & owning internal & external software audits
- Perform watch on best practices/technology & market trends pertinent to IT software asset management.
- Assess & address the potential impact of changes in the commercial landscape of the software industry
- Receive and record License evidence/documentation within the specific repositories and maintain this data where required
- Provide monthly metrics and performance reports to key partners within IT
What you'll bring
- Communication - Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication across all channels and levels of the Kingfisher group, with the ability to articulate sophisticated IT Asset issues accurately and concisely
- Technical Skills - Broad technical understanding relevant to the Kingfisher environment, specifically around Software Assets
- Decision-Making - Capable of working independently, whilst being self-motivated with the ability to use your initiative
- Collaboration - Collaboration and teamwork with all levels of the organisation is key and you must integrate effectively with other teams and stakeholders
