Overview
THE CLIENT
Our client is one of the most prestigious brands in the world, and one of the most prestigious clients within Publicis. They are a genuinely unique business in terms of their structure and goals, meaning that most of the common objectives of an agency client - sales, revenue, margin - are infrequent considerations. Instead, they seek to ensure that the dominant position they hold within their market, the almost ubiquitous aspiration to ownership and their unique synonymity with excellence are sustained, not just for the sales quarter or the financial year, but for the very long term. This presents a unique challenge for media strategy, and that challenge is at the heart of this role.
THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be providing strategic thinking and deliverables for our social media engagement with this unique luxury heritage client: helping to guide the role of social media and the supporting platform strategies that will bring it to life across content, community and channel best practices. Meta platforms will be central to the role, with a very broad global scale, but the Social Strategist would also be involved in strategy development for other platforms, including some involvement in Asian-market platforms. Paid Social is our key scope, but the Social Strategist would need expertise in broader paid/earned/shared/owned social. Even more broadly, since social media is a central part of the client's communication strategy, the Social Strategist would need expertise in holistic comms strategy in order to contextualise the role of Social.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support strategy development, partnering closely with the Social Lead
• Own strategic components of campaign briefs, including working closely with the data team to analyse and incorporate insights, and the planning and activation teams to ensure new recommendations are aligned with those insights
• Proactive research and content creation to support the client team and Social Lead in platform points of view, user behaviour evolution, legislative and other macro trends
• Support on adhoc deep dives into new platform features, competitor activity and sponsored events / ambassador activations
• Alignment with local market teams to connect global and local learnings and insights into new global strategies
Qualifications
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Extensive experience in digital strategy and planning, with at least 3yrs involved in Social and strong exposure to both on and offline media
- Proven track record of delivering impactful social strategies for a range of clients, including luxury brands, brands with large budgets and/or brands with complex strategic requirements
- Proven experience of translating and augmenting platform best practices to fit unique client objectives, not simply regurgitating platform recommendations
- Exceptionally strong presentation and storytelling skills
- Clear understanding of the landscape of social media platforms and user behaviour
- A proactive and passionate individual who is eager to stay up to date with current affairs, especially in relation to the sporting and cultural partnerships of our client
