Social Media and Publicity Assistant

About the roleIn liaison with the Hotel Leadership Team, Marketing Coordinator and Content Creators, work collaboratively to plan, create and schedule marketing and publicity activities as well as social media across platforms. You will support key topics, offers and customer engagement initiatives for Partnership Hotels.

Create and manage the regular membership emails which are sent out to 1000ks plus Partners, Members and local Community Members. Curate themes, and content to fit with the wider Partnership Hotel topics and use our social media channels to post regular content to promote and engage Partners to the Partnership Hotels proposition using software such a Mailchimp & Meta Suite.

Creation of local digital assets (using Canva) such as menus, leaflets, and general hotel marketing materials for the Partnership Hotels collection. For both digital use and print. Including the design and development of engaging assets to be used across communication channels, working collaboratively to sign off assets using your proofreading skills
Manage and edit Zendesk and Partnerchoice when agreed using the central tone of voice.
Website editing and basic understanding of website creation using popular online services.

Some travel and occasional overnight stays are required.

  • Salary - £26,600 - £36,500

  • Contract type - This position is a Permanent contract.

  • Working pattern - 37.5 hours per week, flexible hours with blended working from home and Odney. Occasional weekends and evenings required to capture events

  • Location - This role is based at our Odney Club, Cookham, with occasional travel required to other hotel locations

Key responsibilities 

 ● Collaborate with the Partnership Hotels to support the delivery of marketing, publicity, business development, and customer engagement initiatives as well as operational collateral needed by a Partnership Hotel.

 ● Support the hotel's marketing and web-based media systems within brand guidelines.

● Focus on driving footfall through building relationships with the local community, customers, and stakeholders via local marketing.

● Collaborate with other Partners to support the delivery of guest service offers.

● Assist with projects, member and customer communication, newsletters, and mailshots, etc.

● Help to deliver business plans and overall strategy.

● Responsible for creating and ensuring that content is relevant, current, and up-to-date; to support the business plan and drive commercial benefits.

● Ensure all marketing, customer information, and engagement data comply with statutory and Partnership data control standards.

● Work with internal and external stakeholders.

● Organise and deliver membership email & communications, whilst being aware of the wider cross team plan.

Essential skills/experience you’ll need 

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills 

  • Competent in social media, scheduling, photography and video creation/editing 

  • Use of outbound email tools (eg Mailchimp), Social media platforms (eg Meta suite)

  • Graphic design capabilities/eye for design - using canva 

  • Proof-reading skills. 

  • Team player - Able to work with a small team in a collaborative manner. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and work closely with the Hotels Marketing team. 

  • Experience in a marketing, communications, or digital media role, preferably in a hospitality setting. 

  • Able to work at events when required

  • Hold a marketing/business-related degree or equivalent qualification (marketing, communications, or digital media qualification)

Desirable skills/experience you may have 

  • Demonstrable experience of working with websites, product management and ownership (editing content, development, cms management)

  • Knowledge of print production process

  • Creative thinking and ability to create concepts and design (eg Canva) & experience of working with industry software such as Adobe CS

  • Able to use a drone when required for a brief
