Site Security Manager

ICTS are in the process of recruiting an experienced Site Security Manager to operate on our contract with a high profile client in Edinburgh. The position requires dedicated security professionals who are able to maintain high standards of performance, discipline and appearance. Successful candidates will have a proactive approach to security and a will be able to fit into a team that performs to high standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for the provision of the Security Service at the client site, including leadership of the contracted security team.
• Delivering all aspects of physical security at site level, ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, travellers and assets.
• Direct management of all shift Supervisors, with overall responsibility for all security staff recruitment, performance management and training.
• Identify and escalate control room and pass admin critical infrastructure issues, including phones, VDU, PCs, printer, software, radios, etc.
• Support the tech team with break-fix.
• Support the client in their move towards occupancy of a new signature site with a significant headcount increase. Help to scope and document the operational model and associated SOPs and oversee a flexible security model during final construction works and phases.
• Recruitment and training of a new security force including guarding, security control room and pass administration functions.
• Overall responsibility for quality assurance, compliance with client and company policies and adherence to SOP's.
• Overall responsibility for security staff rostering, appraisals, training and development.
• Ensure that all staff are competent, trained and licenced according to local law and contractual obligation (SIA, First Aid, etc).
• Design, compile, write and implement the on-job and recurrent training program.
• Identify and deliver the training needs of each member of the security team.
• Proactively promote security awareness including conducting security awareness training as part of the client's induction and as required.
• Maintain and update the training files and records.
• Conduct staff appraisals.
• Manage the work schedule and annual leave, ensuring staffing levels are as required by the contract.
• Recruitment.
• Conduct HR related hearings: investigations, disciplinaries, probation review, welfare me, return to work interviews, etc.
• Maintain and update the HR files and records.
• Conducting weekly meetings with the Supervisory Team.
• Ensure SLAs and KRIs are met.
• Overall responsibility for the H&S of the security team.
• Ensure Risk Assessments are up to date and reviews maintained.
• Conduct H&S investigations.
• Write and implement site and events SOPs, design and document site security procedures where relevant, regularly review working practices to ensure standards.
• Perform Security Duties in line with site procedures. To include periodic patrols of site, and reporting technical security maintenance requirements, security incidents and Health & Safety risks.
• Identify, respond, mitigate and escalate to the Security Command Centre any security threats, risks and/or incidents.
• Act as the emergency coordinator during fire alarm activation; Lead at site-level in responding to medical and security incidents and emergencies. Provide strong leadership, direction and reassurance.
• Support Corporate Security with events both on and off site.

HOURS OF WORK - Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00. However, as part of a small team you will need to be reliable and flexible to support your colleagues. There is the requirement to be on call consistently.

Person specification: Essential:
• Experience in a client and customer facing role within the corporate environment.
• Experience in guarding/security management and events security; three years minimum.
• Security license, certification and training in line with local regulatory requirements
• Medical training: Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (FREC) or an equivalent certificate.
• Security training (not exhaustive) equivalent to F-03 Fire Watch.
• Proficient in security control room infrastructure and technologies with proven ability to communicate effectively with IT and Security integration professionals;
• Level 3 First Response Emergency Care certification or equivalent is desirable - must be willing to qualify as a condition of employment;
• Security and H&S qualifications such as CPP and IOSH, and experience in security fields such as Event Security, Security Technology, Physical Security, Training are an advantage;
• Must be available respond to unexpected emergencies and situations out of hours
• Flexible, professional attitude and adept at working under pressure.
• Outstanding written, verbal and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Customer oriented with a passion for high-level service.
• Proactive approach, whilst maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times.
• Five years' checkable history and references
• To pass a criminal records check (CRC) to the required standards
