Site Manager (Civils)

Do you have construction site management experience? Are you looking for a role where you can manage a team to success? If so, we have a great opportunity for you in our Construction team as a Civils Site Manager.
What you'll do

Our Engineering and Sustainable Delivery department is responsible for the delivery of water treatment, wastewater and network projects.

As the Civils Site Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • agreeing pre-construction administration information with the Construction Manager and attending all pre-start meetings to ensure a well-prepared and planned start to the project
  • ensuring guidelines are adhered to and records are kept up to date to achieve a safe working environment and all work is of an adequate quality
  • preparing construction phase health and safety plans and submitting them to the CDM coordinator to ensure legislation is complied with
  • ensuring compliance with requirements identified in the Construction E3MP to ensure the team carry out activities legally and with due care to the environment
  • attending contractors' tender review meetings and pre-commencement meetings to ensure they are aware of all matters relating to work activities on their site
  • ensuring all site staff and appointed contractors have a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities, especially CDM, health and safety and environmental requirements
  • inputting into optioneering, buildability and design as required to assist the most risk-free and cost-effective solution
  • producing forecasts to control and monitor costs against the construction estimate
  • liaising with Detailed Designers, the Mechanical and Electrical Contractor and the Programme Manager to achieve the most economical, safe and quality project.

What you'll need

To be successful, we are looking for a positive individual who will be a respected leader and can build a good relationship with the team, external contractors and the public. You will have relevant construction site experience.

It would be beneficial for you to have undergone the following training:

  • First Aid at Work training
  • National Water Hygiene Certificate
  • fire warden training
  • Temporary Works Coordinator training
  • deep trench support training
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • lifting operations training
  • manual handling at work training
  • working at height training
  • asbestos awareness training
  • environmental awareness training
  • CDM Awareness course
  • NRSWA Supervisor course.

However, full training will be provided.
