Role Purpose
The Site Manager will take day-to-day responsibility for delivering CAT B fit-out projects on occupied and unoccupied sites, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, and to the company's quality standards. This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving, and leading small but high-impact projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the on-site delivery of CAT B fit-out projects up to £500k, from site set-up through to handover.
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to ensure smooth sequencing and efficient delivery.
- Maintain a safe site environment, enforcing H&S procedures, RAMS, inductions, and daily briefings.
- Act as the main site contact for clients, building managers, and consultants, providing regular updates and resolving issues quickly.
- Monitor progress against programme, identifying risks, delays, and opportunities for acceleration.
- Oversee quality control, snagging, and final inspections to ensure a high-standard finish.
- Manage site logistics, deliveries, waste removal, and access arrangements.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and commercial team to support procurement, variations, and cost control.
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries, permits, and compliance documentation.
- Uphold company values and promote a positive, professional site culture.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering CAT B or small-works commercial fit-out projects.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, M&E coordination, and fast-track delivery.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build trust with clients and subcontractors.
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple trades on tight programmes.
- Ability to read drawings, understand design intent, and flag technical issues early.
- Experience working within SME or D&B environments is highly advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a calm, solutions-focused approach.
Qualifications
- SMSTS (essential)
- CSCS
- First Aid at Work
- Fire Marshal (desirable)
- Relevant trade or construction background (advantageous)
