We have an excellent opportunity within our Asset Management Team for a Site Manager at our Stratford HQ.

The Role

We are looking for a dedicated Site Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of site management duties to help maintain and improve our property assets. You will work closely with our Projects team while ensuring that we meet budgetary and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining our property assets, including General Arrangements (GA) stations and depots, while ensuring compliance with legislation and quality standards for both commercial and residential tenants.
  • Support Senior Project Managers in managing contractors on-site to ensure projects run smoothly and safely.
  • Monitor expenses to keep them within budget and contribute to validating payments for completed work.
  • Ensure all contractors follow safety standards to prevent risks on the railway.
  • Maintain a constant presence at project sites, conducting regular inspections, monitoring progress, and producing site reports.
  • Organize and conduct site inductions and address any safety non-conformances as needed.
  • Foster strong relationships within the company and with external stakeholders, sharing knowledge and best practices across the asset management team.
  • Hold weekly meetings with stakeholders to discuss project progress and address any potential issues.
  • Oversee the refurbishment and redevelopment of site renewals and support the Asset Management System accreditation processes.
  • Report any Safety issues to the line manager & HSE.
  • Report daily to asset team with reports & Audits.Produce daily site reports for Senior Managers and Health & Safety department to monitor progress on site or record issues.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate for this position should possess skills and qualifications for managing site operations in the railway industry. The ability to demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills are required for working with diverse stakeholders, along with flexibility to adapt to tight deadlines and recover from setbacks. The candidate should have knowledge and understanding of commercial and financial aspects, coupled with attention to detail, is necessary for effective project management and budget adherence. The ability to thrive under pressure while being mindful of interdependencies is key to success.

Candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience in site management, particularly with multi-disciplinary contractors in the railway sector, along with knowledge of environmental considerations and sustainable practices in construction. A deep understanding of site contractor management, safety regulations (including the CDM), and station maintenance is needed. Required qualifications include an ONC or HNC in Building or a related field, a valid Network Rail Personal Track Safety (PTS) card, a CSCS Gold card, and a Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification. While not mandatory, a Controller of Site Safety (COSS) certification would be beneficial.
