About the Role:

As part of our business strategy Mission 2025, it is vital we have an in-depth understanding of the category we operate in, how it can grow, how our brands can leverage these opportunities and engage with our customers to bring this to life.

The Shopper Strategy Manager - Hospitality will translate the category vision and shopper strategy to unlock opportunities across hospitality channels. Working with the Shopper Insight Manager, they will use research to build actionable plans for Shopper Marketing Leads, such as demographic analysis and strategic partnerships. They will develop innovative shopper and category solutions, enhancing relationships with key customers and demonstrating thought leadership. This will drive mutual benefits for retailers and Britvic, leading to incremental category growth and a competitive advantage for our brands, ultimately growing shareholder value and enhancing Britvic's reputation in soft drinks and FMCG.

This role is central to our planning and execution of category and shopper initiatives, therefore strong links will be required across the Category Strategy, Category Management, Shopper Marketing, Customer Management, Brand Operations and Marketing teams. This role will report to the Head of Shopper Strategy & Insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operationalise Perfect Path to Purchase in key sub-channels to exploit key growth opportunities
  2. Translate portfolio shopper marketing campaigns by priority sub-channel
  3. Identify best in class activation ideas by sub-channel
  4. Understand impact of legislative changes on path to purchase and work with Head of Shopper Strategy & Insights to build and deploy mitigation plans to brand and customer teams e.g. HFSS / DRS
  5. Share key shopper growth opportunities to influence AOP (brand and channel)
  6. Be a trusted expert to support gold and strategic silver customer conversations on leveraging strategic shopper opportunities
  7. Develop and keep up to date shopper toolkits e.g. channel Profiles, menuology principles
  8. Support strategic cross-category partnerships
  9. Support the Head of Shopper Strategy & Insights, translating our soft drinks vision into actionable opportunities for priority sub-channels. In addition to sharing any relevant thinking to Online and Immediate Consumption teams.
  10. Work closely with the Category Strategy team and Category and Shopper Director to ensure segment strategies are incorporating key shopper focussed opportunities relevant to the channel.
  11. Partner with the wider Category, Shopper and Customer Management functions to anticipate evolving needs and provide thought-leadership on key topics.
  12. Bring to life the 'so what' from shopper insight through successful embedding into the business through close collaboration with the Shopper Insight Manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Relevant category management, category development, category strategy, channel development or other strategic experience, preferably in an FMCG business, with a track record of successfully driving category, brand and NPD growth.
  2. Expertise in developing strategic category development activities and working with teams to deliver them with customers, with the right balance of strategic thinking and execution.
  3. Analytical ability to turn strategic insights into execution
  4. Strong story-telling (written and presentation skills) to engage and influence others to implement your recommendations
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage a wide network of stakeholders (internal and external) and influence at the right level.
  6. Experience of working with multiple customers and sub-channels and in different category missions
  7. Strong shopper marketing expertise with solid experience of developing and delivering commercially grounded marketing activity into customers
  8. Creative judgement - acquired through previous shopper or consumer marketing involvement
  9. Project management capability and commercial grounding to ensure delivery of plans
  10. Strong planning, organisation and time management skills
