Job Description
This is an exciting time to be joining the team here in Grangemouth in the newly created role of Shift Production Manager. Reporting to the Senior Production Manager, this role will have overall responsibility for leading one of our shift teams within the Formulation, Fill and Pack (FFP) facility.
Within this role you will lead and enable your team to delivery our business strategy for our Grangemouth site. The key responsibilities within this role include;
- Health & Safety: ensuring compliance with site, company and regulatory requirements, including HSE policies, COMAH (Health and Safety Executive) and PPC (SEPA).
- Performance: managing daily production requirements, minimise downtime, optimize and improve production processes using continuous improvement methodology. (OEE, SMED, visual boards and management disciplines etc).
- Planning: organise work and resources according to the production schedule and priorities, including handover of instructions between teams and shifts.
- Line management: manage and develop the team of Manufacturing Technicians (Production Operators) in safe and effective plant operation.
- Collaboration: in conjunction with the Production Planner and day-based Production Managers monitor plant performance and materials management to ensure planning disciplines are maintained. In addition, support cooperation within the team between shifts and ensuring full utilisation of employees on each shift.
Qualifications
- In order to be successful in the role, you will have the strong experience in a similar type of fast paced, production-based role. You will be experienced leading and developing a team and able to demonstrate strong influencing and communication skills.
- Solutions focused, you will be experienced in lean manufacturing principles and implementation with demonstrable experience of implementing sustained business improvements.
- Knowledge and experience within a COMAH site would be an advantage but more importantly is proven experience of working within a focused Health and Safety environment, working closely with public bodies.

- Able to deal with regulators and other stakeholders; influence & communicate on both a rational & political level effectively.
