CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Shift Manager in Cambridge where they will be working alongside one of our major Life Science Clients, AstraZeneca.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Responsible for supporting the Engineering Manager in all operational matters relating to the effective Plant and Equipment Maintenance on the site and ensuring that the CBRE Safety Rules and Procedures are adhered to by all site personnel across the shift team.

• Assessing, priortising and delivering planned maintenance across the Astrazeneca CBC Campus.

• Liaison with the wider CBRE team to ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with site policies and procedures and within health and safety legislative requirements.

• Liaising directly with clients/science/user groups to coordinate and deliver PPM's in line with statutory compliance and PPM schedules.

• Assist and support the reliability engineering team to schedule PPM's.

• Liaising with third party contractors and the engineering team to schedule visits, collate and review all relevant admin to prepare permits and job packs for works.

• Ensuring all records are updated and maintained to standards required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning and organising works for the shift teams ensuring statutory compliance and PPM schedules are adhered to.

• Responsibility for all shift related works.

• Prioritising and assigning responses to High, Medium and Low alarms across all platforms on site.

• Liaising with Day Team Leads to coordinate works.

• Quality Checks on all works completed identifying and recording any remedial actions.

• Liaison with Key stakeholders in arranging any works on site.

• Ensuring direct reports have Goals and Objectives, PDP and adequate training is planned, booked and u to date.

• Deputise and act as Engineering Manager in their absence.

• Provide guidance and advice on contractors RAMS for non-routine works on site, as required.

• To carryout assessment of Contractors competencies, as required.

• Give advice to Engineering Manager on Technical Competencies required to fulfil the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance requirement by both in house teams and third party contractors.

• Support the Engineering Manager in the development and review of site policies and procedures relating to the maintenance of installed plant and equipment.

• Identify and develop training plans specific to installed equipment to facilitate training of site engineers and for staff development.

• Ensure all matters relating to Health and Safety legislative requirements are fully documented and understood by all site staff and subcontractors involved in the maintenance of plant and equipment ensuring that advise has been taken from the CBRE HSE Manager and BU Technical Manager.

• Assist in the development and adherence to method statements, ensuring best working practices are established and maintained.

• Work with sub-contractors involved in plant and equipment maintenance to ensure highest possible standards of maintenance are achieved.

• Ensure third party contractors are approved on company My Supplier system and that competencies are adequate.

• Responsible for ensuring site inductions are conducted for all visiting third party contractors.

• Request and review relevant RAMS in a timely manner before scheduled site visit.

• Validate all necessary information is provided for permits.

• Issue, monitor and sign off closure of permits to work in accordance with site procedure.

• Collate third party contractor job/permit packs in preparation for works to be carried out.

• Liaise with relevant authorised personnel to organise supplementary permits and isolation certificates (electrical, pressure systems, confined space etc.) in preparation for works.

• Support site leadership team with delegated tasks.

• Audit LOTO system and procedures to ensure compliance.

• Audit any permits issued to reinforce standards and compliance.

• Provide feedback to EHS on permit issuing and safety improvements and attend safety meetings when required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferably be an apprenticed trained engineer who has recognized technical qualifications in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering and having several years (minimum 5 years) experience in a technical position

• Good all-round knowledge of building services and health & safety within a critical pharmaceutical environment.

• A good knowledge of Building Management Systems; Fire Alarm Systems and General Building Services (Electrical; AC; Boilers; Water Systems; Chillers; Generators; UPS's, etc.)

• Exhibit at all times an awareness of safety procedures and practices

• Show diligence in safe working Methods both for CBRE staff and occupants of the premises we are working in.

• Impart knowledge and safety training to all members of staff as required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education A good education is essential, with good written and spoken

English

Training Formally trained in an electrical or mechanical discipline.

Recognised Health and Safety qualification (such as IOSH or NEBOSH).

Experience [Essential] Experience within pharmaceutical R&D industry.

Significant experience of Safe Systems of Work

Strong knowledge of computerised systems.

Aptitudes Client facing and articulate with the ability to own, manage and ensure compliance with company and client procedures and processes.

Client focused, with an ability to matters of highest reward.
