We have a very exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Shift Manager at our Scottish Parcel Hub, helping us to continue to improve and deliver the best service.

About the role

As a Shift Manager you'll be responsible for managing a team of operators and leading them in a way that motivates, creates high performance, and fosters commitment. You will ensure the daily work plan is cleared while achieving performance and budgetary targets through participation, motivation, and in-flight decision making. You will also be responsible for Health & Safety compliance, creating a working environment where all employees take responsibility for safety and wellbeing in accordance with Continuous Improvement Activities.

You will be accountable for the day-to-day operation and performance of the shift, ensuring work plan and scorecard targets are achieved, including quality, financial, automation, and employee targets and objectives. You will embed standard operating procedures as the way of working.

You will handle first line HR processes such as Conduct and Attendance, Engagement, and Performance. You will measure and display key metrics for the early shift and analyse and continuously improve them.

As a shift Manager you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of frontline staff, including those at the Walk Bundling Centre. You'll oversee the entire operation of the Walk Bundling Centre, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Shift patterns: Early shift, Monday - Friday, 6:00 - 14:12 during peak times flex and additional time required to support other shifts

About You
Safety: You have knowledge of safe systems of work, safety tools and techniques, and the accident investigation process.
Operational Knowledge: You possess operational knowledge of the overall plant operation.
Automation Knowledge: You understand automation and mechanical performance metrics, and are responsible for contacting engineers when machines break down.
People Skills: You have good communication skills and can engage and motivate team members to work to high standards.
Data Analysis and Problem Solving: You can use data to identify trends in performance and develop solutions or make improvements.
Relationships: You are able to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve business benefits.
Strong Drive, Enthusiasm, and Resilience: You constantly strive to improve performance, can motivate colleagues, and are able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
IT Literacy: You are proficient in using internal systems such as PSP, PCM, Qlikview, and Microsoft Office programs.
Team Experience: You have experience working in teams to achieve results.
