We are seeking a visionary and high-impact SHEQ Director to join our leadership team. This pivotal role is designed for a strategic professional ready to take full accountability for our Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards across the business.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will not only govern our compliance but also serve as a vital link between our site operations and the Board.
The Role: Strategy, Governance & Leadership
- Strategic Vision: Set the overarching SHEQ strategy, translating complex requirements into clear, simple site rules.
- Leadership: Build, lead and mentor the SHEQ team while maintaining full oversight of the departmental budget.
- Cultural Advocacy: Influence the business vision, setting ambitious targets and acting as a trusted confidant.
- Lead Ownership: Own the H&S management system and ensure total legal compliance.
- Site Engagement: Maintain a strong site presence to support delivery teams and directly improve operational performance.
- Quality Culture: Drive a "right first time" culture.
- Technical Excellence: Intervene early in first-fix quality.
- Sustainability: Lead environmental compliance.
- Strategy Implementation: Work in partnership with teams to implement and embed strategy.
- Behavioural Change: Drive safety improvements and ensure team competence through defined training standards.
