Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Service Transition Manager with hands-on experience in Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) to oversee the seamless transition of IT services from development into live operations. You will collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure services meet operational requirements, while leveraging Amazon EKS for container orchestration.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Transition Management:
- Lead the transition of new or changed services into production.
- Ensure service design and transition activities align with business and operational needs.
- Manage risks and issues associated with service transitions.
Amazon EKS Implementation:
- Oversee the deployment and management of containerized applications on Amazon EKS.
- Collaborate with cloud and DevOps teams to ensure efficient Kubernetes cluster operations.
- Implement best practices for EKS in production environments.
Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with development, operations, and business teams to define transition requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for service transition projects.
Process and Documentation:
- Develop and maintain service transition plans, ensuring comprehensive documentation.
- Align with ITIL frameworks and ensure compliance with organisational processes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve service transition practices.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Service Transition Management within large-scale, complex environments.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
- Strong understanding of ITIL service management frameworks, particularly in service transition.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and microservices architecture.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Kubernetes Specialist).
- ITIL v4 certification.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
- Knowledge of other container technologies (e.g., Docker, OpenShift).
