Service Operations Manager Required
Due to continued success and growth, Atlas Copco Tools are now looking to recruit a UK & Ireland Service Operations Manager. This role requires extensive travel around our customer base and site-based service teams and must include regular presence at our service hub situated in Wolverhampton.
The Candidate
The ideal Service Operations Manager will have previous experience in operations or planning to a high level.
You will also:
- Have a Bachelor or higher degree in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering
- Have excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have strong leadership skills and be able to influence and convince others
- Must work at a high level with Microsoft Office suite (particularly reporting with Excel)
The Role
This position will report into Service BLM (Business Line Manager), and will drive day to day operations while planning budget and ensuring the efficiency & effectiveness of cost.
The Service Operations Manager is responsible for developing an efficient, motivated and competent service organisation so as to deliver the strong commitment of high quality service to Atlas Copco IT (Industrial Technique) customers, through a dedicated team of Service Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Service Engineers while ensuring the customer satisfaction.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Engineer competence development mapping, training and certification.
- Ensure the continuous improvement of customer satisfaction measured by regular surveys.
- Plan and manage the service organisation & operational budget as per market requirements and long term growth plan, while ensuring the efficiency of the team.
- Maintain regular contact with key contracted customers to identify the customer's requirements and analyse their demands to deliver & implement gap closure plans.
- Develop and optimise service network on both field and workshop to ensure the lead time, quality and efficiency.
- Continuously standardise and improve the service operation workflow so as to improve the quality and efficiency.
- Ensure correct and proper reporting on service activities and turnaround time to division, including interaction with Global Operations Manager.
- Interact with other functions (such as projects and sales) to setup and optimise the cross functional operational processes.
- Be responsible for the UK service operational KPI's (key performance indicators) and ensure the target fulfilment.
- Be responsible for people selection and development, i.e. interview, coaching and counselling of the employees.
- Monitor and Control settlement of all warranty issues according to the written procedures.
- Ensure proper and structured coordination with the Product Company on product quality issues, QCM (quality concerns management) etc.
- Must be prepared to undertake ad hoc tasks and projects where applicable.
