We are also offering a competitive salary starting from £49,286 up to £57,379 per annum dependant on experience plus a fantastic array of benefits.

Job Profile
The Senior Biomedical Scientist position is to supervise technical and scientific work in the laboratory under the direction of the Chief/ Biomedical Scientist or Consultant
- Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.
- Salary: between £49,286-£57,379 per annum.

Key Duties
- Undertake routine and specialist laboratory techniques in line with department standard operating procedures.
- Record information on the Pathology laboratory information system and ensure it complies with governance requirements at all times.
- To assess, initiate and monitor appropriate action when a situation may compromise service delivery and to escalate.
- To be aware of the processes for escalation of laboratory issues.
- To undertake technical validation and authorisation of results from laboratory investigations as specified by laboratory guidelines and policies.
- To communicate results as appropriate.
- Liaise with all grades of biomedical scientists, TLC staff and other users to ensure optimal service delivery.
Skills & Experience
Current state registration as a Biomedical Scientist in the UK (HCPC).
BSc Biomedical Science or equivalent
Completion of specialist training or equivalent experience (more than 2 years) in the UK.
Understands quality assurance procedures in accordance with UKAS standards.
