About the Role
Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? We are seeking a dynamic and committed service manager to join our adult services leadership team on a fixed-term basis for two years. This role offers a unique chance to lead and shape services that address key priorities within Newport City Council. We're looking for a confident and compassionate leader who thrives on building strong teams and driving continuous improvement in the quality of our support. This role offers the chance to lead across a number of different areas of adult services and includes the opportunity of acting as a responsible individual (RI) under RISCA legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote independence, choice, and dignity for all people supported.
- Manage budgets, staffing, and service improvement.
- Build relationships with families, other professionals, and stakeholders.
- Provide dedicated leadership across a broad range of adult services statutory duties.
- Drive accountability, streamline communication, and enhance service delivery across adult services.
- Guarantee that service delivery is in accordance with Welsh Government strategies and Codes of Practice.
We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in managing or leading a variety of teams within adult services or a related field.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policy, and best practice.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Strong resource management skills and ability to ensure quality across services.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and funding arrangements.
