Job Description

We are holding a Fife Council jobs fair on the 30th of October from 10am - 2pm at the Glen Pavilion, Dunfermline. We will be on hand to talk about the vacancies we have on offer and what it's like to work with the council. Job Details

This is an exciting time to join the Children and Families, Justice Service within the Communities Directorate. The post holder will be responsible for Quality Assurance, Strategic Commissioning and Workforce Development across Children and Families and supporting the work of the Communities Directorate as we seek to implement a transformational wellbeing and prevention service.

  • You will have autonomy to lead whilst working with others to develop a workforce development strategy, Quality Assurance Framework and engaging with the Voluntary Sector to ensure we have a vibrant offer to support families and communities
  • You will develop an annual programme of self-evaluation and quality assurance activity within Children and Families and in partnership with the Child Protection Committee
  • You will be able to innovate and ensure that our services are shaped by lived experience
  • Horizon scanning ensuring our service is updating policy and procedure to reflect national change and the voice of our service users
  • Develop the workforce ensuring pride in practice events, staff forums are held and that we are engaged with the workforce
  • You will provide assurance to the Chief Social Work Officer on the impact of services to support the most vulnerable children, young people and families

The Person

  • You will be an experienced children and family's manager who has ideally had experience in a senior management position. You will be a motivated and enthusiastic leader who can produce high quality reports, presentations and strategy.
  • You need to be a highly motivated and enthusiastic leader who has a track record of managing and implementing change.
  • Experience of quality assurance, self-evaluation, commissioning is essential as is working within partnership forums.
  • Confirm registration with regulatory body (SSSC)
  • For communication skills, focus on type of skills -persuading, advising, listening. Don't use 'excellent' or 'good'
  • As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a "blended working" arrangement with home-working opportunities and occasional office-working as required.
  • Ability to travel within Fife

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
