About the role:

As an SEO & Web Intelligence Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in identifying SEO opportunities and turning insights into action.

This role focuses on analysing site performance, identifying the impact of algorithm updates, and uncovering opportunities to strengthen search visibility. You'll take the lead in surfacing clear, actionable recommendations for SEO enhancements, helping guide the work across the SEO and Content team.

You'll collaborate with stakeholders across SEO, Content, Data, and Engineering to ensure insights inform roadmaps and strategic decision-making. This role suits someone who excels at uncovering insights, spotting trends early, and knows how to translate analysis into meaningful business actions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Monitor performance trends and unpick the impact of Google algorithm updates

  • Analyse update patterns to identify shifts in Google's focus and anticipate changes in ranking signals

  • Translate SEO and analytics insight into prioritised, actionable recommendations for delivery squads

  • Partner across SEO, Content, Product, and Engineering to align SEO opportunities with roadmap priorities

  • Support squad planning through insight-to-action workflows and opportunity sizing

  • Lead competitive analysis and backlink reviews to inform SEO strategy

  • Create and maintain best practice documentation, contributing to knowledge sharing across the SEO community

  • Stay up to date with SEO trends, tools, and industry developments

  • Line manage SEO Executives, including performance reviews, mentoring, and development support

  • Advocate for cross-channel process improvements and knowledge sharing across the SEO team

  • Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and billing cycles for SEO tools and services

This role sits within an in-house team of 20+ SEO and Content specialists, supports the SEO strategy for Compare the Market, generating millions of sessions each month.

What we're looking for:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent relevant experience

  • Strong background in Digital Marketing, with deep expertise in SEO

  • Demonstrable experience in both technical and content SEO practices

  • Analytical mindset, with a proven ability to turn data into strategic insight

  • Experience with tools such as GA4, Search Console, STAT, Screaming Frog,

  • Expert knowledge of using Excel and Looker Studio (or similar)

  • Excellent communicator, able to simplify complex topics and influence at all levels

  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Organised and proactive, with attention to detail and strong stakeholder management skills

  • Experience in line management, mentoring, and supporting others in their development

  • Passionate about digital marketing, SEO, and making a measurable impact
