About The Role

Are you an experienced senior leader ready to shape the future of maritime risk, navigation and shipping consultancy? Are you motivated by the opportunity to guide a specialist division into its next phase of growth and impact?

You'll provide the direction, structure and empowerment needed to ensure the division delivers exceptional work while remaining resilient, ambitious and aligned to APEM Group's wider vision. This is a role with real influence: shaping how our maritime services evolve, how our people grow, and how we continue to deliver world-class consultancy across a high-growth global business.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a leader with both strategic capability and operational maturity. You'll need:

  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality consultancy services to time, budget and a high scientific or technical standard
  • Strong understanding of the markets relevant to navigation, maritime risk or the wider marine environment
  • Experience across the full project delivery lifecycle, including commercial tendering and forecasting
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A leadership style grounded in transparency, clear expectations, coaching and development
  • Demonstrated experience driving successful change through teams
  • Confidence in operational decision-making and balancing commercial and delivery pressures

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or professional membership
  • Established industry network
  • Experience working in high-growth or acquisition-integrated organisations
  • Working understanding of P&L and financial performance drivers

You will be offered the chance to work on a variety of projects, many of our employees have worked on projects that have been of personal interest to them. We match this with a commitment to continuous development and learning to support your career. We also offer benefits to look after you, from private medical insurance for all employees, access to mental health first aiders and comprehensive income protection if you cannot work. We also offer superb flexible working options, balancing work with your life.
